Our Parish Churches

Welcome to the website for the Catholic parish of Aldeburgh and Leiston – a scattered parish covering some twenty five villages around the beautiful coastal town of Aldeburgh. Though we are relatively small in numbers, this is a parish with a life of its own in two communities.

On the site you’ll get a picture of some of the things that go on here, and if you come to visit us, we hope that you will feel at home among us. It’s a parish that rejoices in the many people who visit us both regularly and for one-off stays and your presence here enriches our own community.

If you are new to the area or have been away from church for a while, we warmly invite you to be part of our parish family.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Holy Father Francis

On Easter Monday It was with great sadness that we heard the following announcement from Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Apostolic Chamber:

“Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis. At 7:35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of His Church. He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favour of the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite merciful love of the One and Triune God.”

There will also be a Requiem Mass at St John’s Cathedral, Earlham Road, Norwich on Thursday evening at 6.00pm. All are welcome.

“May he now rest in peace and rise in glory.”
